Apple Cup 2009 game time

The Apple Cup, the annual rivalry college football game, between the two largest universities being the University of Washington (Huskies) and the Washington State University (Cougars).
Traditionally played as the final game of the season on the Saturday preceding Thanksgiving, at Husky Stadium in Seattle on odd years, and then at WSU’s Pullman, Martin Stadium, in the even years.
Today they take each other on for the 102nd time since 1962 at the Apple Cup.
It seems this year the Huskies have much better chances because of their talent pool in every position. Even with only a 3-7 record, Washington are being looked at as the favourites, they are four TD favourite.
This year will see Jake Locker play Quarterback for the Huskies, while WSU has had several players man the position.
But there are never any definite’s in this game, Washington may have won through word of mouth, but in the last few weeks have been playing less than great.
The cup renamed in 1962 after being titled the “Governor’s Trophy”, was named the “Apple Cup” due to Washington’s apple crop’s.
This game will be the most important game for the 2009 season of college football for both teams.
This is the last achievement for both teams, now they have both been eliminated from post season bowl games. Last year we saw the rivalry that happens when the Cougar’s beat the Huskies sending them to their worst season in the history of college football ending on 0-13.
Many say this game can not be predicted, as WSU comes to the game with a lot of injured players, and UW will be coming with a point to prove.
The kick of starts at 3.30 PM EST on FSN, and will take place this year at Seattle’s Husky Stadium.
