Following the story from earlier this week, the police in Fayetteville, held a 8pm new conference to announce more charges and the cause of death of 5 year old Shaniya Davis.
Mario McNeil has been charged with first degree kidnapping will also face murder and rape charges filed by the Investigators and the district attorney for Cumberland county.
This again brings awareness on sex abuse against children.
The young girl’s body was found off a road in a rural part of North Carolina earlier this week. The Aunt of the child was reported to say that she had a hard time letting the young girl go to live temporarily at her mother Antoinette Davis’ house, because she believed the woman neglected her children.
Shaniya’s mother was charged with human trafficking and felony child abuse.
Antoinette Davis’ sister, Brenda Davis, had said she does not believe the charges and argued that Davis would not hurt her children.
Her mother reported the girl missing from a mobile home park in Fayetteville.
McNeil was charged after suveillance footage from a Sanford Hotel showed him carrying the girl. Authorities said McNeill admitted to taking her, though would plead not guilty says his attorney.
The cause of death from asphyxiation and rape were the result of the autopsy conducted.
It is a sad end to a young girls life.
