Best Actress Winner 2010
The 82nd Annual Academy Awards, has come to an end, and it was Sandra Bullock, who took home the gold statue for Best Actress in the film “The Blindside.”
Bullock who looked stunning in her beaded, jewelled gown, gave a funny, yet touching acceptance speech, thanking her other competitors. Bullock won over Meryl Streep in Julie and Julia, Gabourney Sidibe in Precious, Carey Mulligan in An Education and Helen Mirren in The Last Station.
Bullock who was favoured to win, gave a special thanks, to moms around the world and also to her own mom, with whom when mentioning she began to get emotional.
Sandra also stands out as the only actress, to have ever won both a Razzie Award, and an Academy in the same year. The Razzie was awarded for Worst Actress, for her role in “All about Steve,” and she even turned up to the ceremony to accept.
Avatar was another big winner of the night as well as The Hurt Locker, it seems the awards were shared around this year, rather than one movie taking them all home.
The night was entertaining and went off went out much of a hitch, apart from it’s very abrupt ending.
