DJ Peachez dies
Popular DJ , Peachez from Richmond, VA, has died according to a close collaborator Nicki Minaj. Minaj posted the news to her Twitter page, and it is also becoming news on several blog posts.
DJ Peachez’s (Terika Grooms) death was also confirmed by Radio station Power 92.1 in a brief post they said:
It is with a heavy, heavy heart that we tell you that our own DJ Peachez passed away today after a very short illness. She has been with iPower 92.1 since 2006 and will always be remembered as an inspiration to young women who aspire to be on air DJ’s and Mixers. Terika Grooms aka DJ Peachez was a graduate of James Madison University and she truly loved being a DJ.
DJ Peachez hailed from Lynchburg , VA and grew up in Amherst, VA and was well known for her show, and was popular for her mix of music, blending Pop, 80′s, dance hall, reggae along with hiphop.
She was the first female to hold a DJ position on mainstream radio in VA.
She was involved in Radio since the young age of 17. Her style and taste in music soon earned her the title “First Lady of the Cap City.” She was raised by her paternal grandparents as her parents were not able to take care of her, even so her parents were still very important ot her.
She dreamt of one day earning a Ph.D. and teaching at University. She was a goal orientated girl with a lot of drive. Her strong values, positive attitude and humble spirit were known by many.
There at present no further details regarding DJ Peachez illness or cause of death.
