Facial Profiler
There is a new application available on Facebook, that allows a person to upload a photo of themselves, and it matches you with a person with a similar looking facial profile, that is also a user. The application is actually an ad campaign produced by Coke Zero.
The idea behind the application is that the original coke is so much like the Coke Zero, so as they say that every person alive on this planet also has a doppelganger.
Coca- Cola has been working with Facebook for months ensuring that the application sits inside the site’s privacy rules, especially because of the potential privacy concerns the application could raise.
It will enable users to send friend requests to their lookalikes, but Coke also admits it is unsure how it will be used. “Alex Burnard, a creative director for the firm that worked with Coca-Cola , has watched members’ reactions when they find their matches, saying that it introduces “a new social dynamic” that people haven’t experienced before.
The application is based on the same kind of technology used by law-enforcement agencies to locate individuals within large pools of people.
