FBI raids Kinsman, Illinois
It seems hardly a day goes by without law enforcement arresting a suspected Islamic terrorist. This morning at 8 am, there was a massive FBI raid at a building in the small Illinois town of Kinsman. Who would think that in a town with a population of 109, there may be terrorist(s) planning attacks on America?
Law enforcement officers including many police surrounded an Islamic meat plant in kinsman and closed off the area. While there have been no updates from the FBI or the police, everyone in kinsman appears puzzled. Kinsman is a town with no local police force and yet today there were more than a 100 police officers, helicopters and even a pair of snipers. At the end of the day no arrests were made. This unusual show of force has many people wondering what is going on in this sleepy town. Citizens of kinsman claim that they have seen nothing unusual at the meat plant.
Initial reports by the public indicate that several people were handcuffed but released at the end of the day.
However, there is word that two men who own the business have been under some scrutiny by law enforcement So far it is not known if this police raid bears any relation to the arrest of a muslim suspect in Boston or the arrest of an American muslim in New York several weeks ago.
The FBI office in Chicago says that no one has been charged and no arrests have been made. The sheriff of Grundy county, ill where kinsman is located said he was informed about the imminent raid several weeks ago. Whether this is a terrorist issue or violation of immigration laws is not yet known, but it sure has the people of kinsman alarmed. The presence of immigration officers at the raid suggests that perhaps the raid may have been related to immigration breaches. We just have to wait and see.
