GMAIL Down For About An Hour This Afternoon Says Google

Unusual as it is, Google had a highly noticed technical glitch this afternoon, as its popular GMAIL email serbice went down for a little over an hour around 1 pm PST.
Unfortunately for Google. the outage came right in the middle of a highly visible campaign attempting to persuade users to switch from popular Microsoft Apps to Google’s free versions.
Google responded by apologizing on their blog, but declined to comment further. Although we are not suggesting this is much of a crisis, they’ve done a great job of containing it. By keeping users up to date as the problem was progressing, and apologizing almost instantly, Google took the oxygen away from the fire, and by refusing to comment futher, they made the incident a non-issue.
That said, if we represented Microsoft, we would launch a dueling ad campaign questioning Google’s reliablilty.
