Tim Tebow, a Heisman Trophy winning American football quarterback, has started a new trend, the Pro footballer has started sporting eye black that features verses from the Bible.

In a game against Florida State last week, he was seen wearing “Heb 12 1-1″ . And again this week he has “John 16.33″ which references a passage from Gospel of John from the New Testament.

The passage reads as: I have told you these things, so that in me you may have peace. In this world you will have trouble. But take heart! I have overcome the world.

Tebow was the first college football player to ever to both rush and pass for 20 touchdowns in a season. He also was the first sophomore player to ever win a Heisman.

Tebow born in Manila in the Philippines in 1987, also earned a Maxwell Award as the Nations top football player in 2007, while also the Davey O’Brien Award for the best Quarterback in the Nation and the James E.Sullivan Award as most outstanding amateur athlete in any sport for the Nation.

Florida the No.1 ranked team face Alabama No.2 ranked in an important game today. It will allow the winner the SEC championships and will also advance them to the BCS  National Championship Game for the shot at the College Football National Championships.
