Mary Travers Dies EMC Ideas
The third celebrity death reported by EMC Ideas tongiht, is that of Mary Travers, the renowned folk singer and 60′s icon.
Mary was born in Kentucky but grew up in Greenwich Village where she later came up by singing in coffee houses throughout New York. She was introduced with the likes of Paul Stookey, Peter Yarrow and Bob Dylan, who would help boost her career and her status as a 60′s folk music legend.
Travers saw folk music as both a way to entertain and to pass on political messages. EMC Ideas reports that Mary Travers died at 72 years old at Danbury Hostpital in Connecticut after years of suffering through leukemia.
