Pacquiao vs Clottey round by round
There has been international interest in the fight between Manny Pacquiao and Joshua Clottey.
The fight which played out over 12 rounds, started with Pacquiao leading in the first round, landing a mass of great punches, as Clottey defended himself, only getting in a few punches.
When round two came about, Clottey landed a couple of face jams on Pacquiao, although Manny still led the round.
Round three, was the most even round, although Pacquiao was still in control, then when round four came around, Clottey received a few body shots and some strong combinations from Pacquiao.
Pacquiao in the fifth round, was still full of energy, as it seems Clottey has started to lose his. Pacquiao got in a few head shots, a five punch combo and also a four shot combo, Clottey only landed a head shot.
Although in round six, it seemed Clottey showed us his most active round, landing some jarring shots on Pacquiao, but not enough to win the round.
Landing several combinations, Pacquiao, the more consistent fighter, again led over Clottey who only got in a few hard punches.
Warned for a low blow in round eight Clottey, had to ward off several combinations by Pacquiao. While in nine, Clottey came out with a couple of good combinations during the round, although with a six punch combination, Pacquiao led again.
In round ten Pacquiao ruled again, where Clottey missed an opportunity with a strong uppercut and a combination, but he never went for it, so we saw Pacquiao fight in to take this round also.
Clottey who has a definite intensity in his boxing, landed several hard lefts and an upper cut, but the much faster Pacquiao, landed a lot more punches, with a 6 punch combination.
In the final round, Pacquiao and Clottey hugged, and Clottey even though he came out string, was no competition over the much more prepared Pacquiao who regained and held control of the round, with a 120-108, 119-109 and 119-109 win.
