Raymond Luc gets re-invited to U Mass on thursday

Finally terror bomber gets to say something at the University of Massachusetts. This morning sources from the University of Mass say that they will re-invite Raymond luc Levasser, the former leader of the revolutionary group United Freedom Front to give a speech.

Raymond was scheduled to speak earlier but objections by other faculty members led to his speech cancellation. Now under the commitments of academic freedom, some segments of the university have reasserted the right to bring back Raymond.  Raymond was released in prison in 2004 after serving 18 years for his role where a series of bank robberies and bombings were committed along the East US coast in the late 70s and early 80s. He was finally released under federal parole at a Maine halfway house.

The invitation to Raymond has not gone well with the police in Massachusetts. Says Rick Brown of president of State police association of Massachusetts, “He shouldn’t be allowed to talk to any students. Why give this man any credibility to speak in an academic environment? He has no remorse and who knows if he’s out to recruit. UMass should be ashamed of themselves for even inviting this man on campus.”

Brown and his colleagues plan to be out in force “We’ll be out there to show our displeasure,” he said. “I’m disgusted by the fact that UMass would even consider doing this. We don’t think it’s appropriate.”

The speech has also enraged Massachusetts Governor Patrick who insisted that the speech be cancelled the first time. The wife, Donna Lamonaco, of the state trooper who was fatally shot by one of the members of the united front in 1981 also plans to travel to protest Raymond’s speech. No one has any idea on what the speech is all about.
