SkiFree

Chris Pirih who was once working as a programmer at Microsoft, came up with a game which would take the Internet by storm. Skifree is a game which gives the player the simple task of sking down an endless slope and avoiding obstacles, It is also very addictive.
For his own entertainment and education he created the game on his own home computer. It was eventually noticed by a program manager for Microsoft Entertainment Pack, when Pirih was playing it at work one day.
It was after that, Pirih’s consent was requested for it to be included in the next Entertainment Pack release.
It was included and was featured in the Best of Windows Entertainment Pack , while also becoming available for Macintosh as a ported version.
With the millions spent on gaming and making each one better than the last. It is almost hilarious that this simple game, with it’s childlike graphics and simple features, has the net buzzing.
Unfortunately for Pirih he lost the original source code and went onto other projects, after attempting to work on a second version of the game in 1993.
But then only two years later, he announced that he had rediscovered the code and the creation of a newer version (32 bit) was released. His official website features the updated version.
The original being only a 16 bit Windows program created compatibility issues with newer versions of Windows as they were released. Some users of Windows XP were able to configure the operating system to run the 16 bit Windows program Pirih noted at the time.
The game features a free style course, Slalom, Tree Slalom or just ski free choices.
Once a player has ended their run, they encounter the abominable snow man. Who attempts to chase and eat the skier. The player is still able to ski while the monster attempts to do this.
