Becky Griggs, featured on CNN on Friday morning, her appearance has grabbed the attention of the Nation.

Over the last few years she lost around 200 pounds, and went onto become a personal trainer, and has competed in body building competitions.

Griggs, 43 lives in Oregon City, where she is a mother of two children, she looks back on her childhood where she thought of herself as a pudgy kid, only to come to the thought she was only a little overweight.

“We are taught what is slim and skinny and pretty and right,” Becky told CNN, “but in reality, what is fit and healthy is a different thing.” Her life now begins with a 5.30 am wake-up to meet clients at the gym.

Becky weighed 352 pounds when her concerned heightened, her blood pressure was rising and started to climb. She even worried about needing help to walk around the house. It was earlier this year that she competed in a body building competition, where she weighed in at 139 pounds, but her normal weight has adjusted to around 150 pounds.

Her weight loss she credits too the “calories in versus calories out” diet. She went to eating five basic meals a day, with protein counting for 80 % of the meal. There were no sugars or flour allowed, which she refered to as clean eating. She works out frequently and says she doesn’t currently always eat clean but always plans when she knows she will be.

In order to work out often, she decided to become a personal trainer as she knew it would help her do so. With her clients she tends to tell them to find someone else to work out with such as a partner or friend, as it will help them to both keep motivated. And she also says that the most important part of weight loss is to lose the body fat, which comes from exercising regularly and to focus on building muscle.
