Longtime co-host of hit show Dancing with the Stars, Samantha Harris, will not be returning to the ABC reality series, when it comes back for it’s new season on March 22nd.

Harris who was the hosted the dance show with  Tom Bergerson for the last eight seasons, is leaving the show to focus on other projects, which include her recently expanded correspondent duties on The Insider, a infotainment show.

Dancing with the Stars executive producer Conrad Green is reportedly already searching for a replacement for Harris, leading to a Internet frenzy discussing who should be her replacement and why.

There have been suggestions of Drew Lachey, who has filled the role before while Harris was on maternity leave. Another name that has surfaced is Paula Abdul, who has the skills of co-hosting while also being an ex dancer herself. The oddest suggestion has been Miss Piggy, who famously elbowed Harris out of the spotlight on the show at the end of last season.

Harris spoke of her time saying, “Dancing with the Stars could not have been more of a dream job,”  “I loved every single second of it and I’ve made lifelong friends at the show.”

And Green only had praise for Harris saying, “Samantha has been a brilliant part of Dancing with the Stars and we wish her the best of luck on The Insider,” he added. “She’s done an incredible job. Some of the most memorable moments on the show have been facilitated by Samantha. I think we’ll all walk away with enormous happy memories of working with one another.”

Dancing with the Stars has finished for another year.

The winner of this (2009) season was announced in a two hour finale Tuesday night.

The two big favourites to win, were Singer Mya, and Donny Osmond.

Osmond finally taking the Mirror Ball Trophy.

The night also saw Donny singing Puppy Love, to the joy of the audience.

The show also welcomed back Jerry Springer, Cloris Leachman and Steve Wozniak attempting to dance again.

Competitors NFL stars Michael Irvin and Jerry Rice both were handed mini disco ball rings, after a dance off.

Donny Osmond won along side his Professional partner Kym Johnson. With Osmond running to the crowd grabbing his wife and carrying her onto the dance floor, where he then held the trophy about his head yelling “Yeah.”

Singer Mya came in runner up, she said about her time on the show,  “I’m so happy to have made it to the finals. … We had the time of our lives!”

Kelly Osbourne came in third saying .  “It’s been the most beautiful amazing experience.  … Thank you, America. … It’s because of you that I’ve grown so much.”

The show in it’s 9Th season in the U.S. airs on ABC. It is based on the United Kingdom’s series Strictly Come Dancing on the BBC. It is part of a Dancing with the Stars, BBC worldwide franchise.

Osmond born Donald Clark “Donny” Osmond was born in 1957, and is a singer, musician, and actor.

He was born into the Osmond family where he later appeared with his brothers in a singing group. From there he became a teen idol and he and his sister Marie also became a brother and sister singing act.

He also played Joseph in the Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat from 1991-1997. Osmond was also chosen by Lord Andrew Lloyd Webber to do the film version in 1999.

Fans of ABC’ s Dancing with the Stars, are waiting with fated breath for the Tuesday final results show.

Apart from the final winner being announced viewers will also have the chance to see singing Icon Whitney Houston fresh from the American Music Awards where she was named as the International Artist of the Year.

Houston will be appearing on the show after an announcement by the producers of Dancing with the Stars today.

She will perform one her of new hits “Million Dollar Bill” and one of her classics, “I Wanna Dance with Somebody” during the second performance the trained dancers such as Mark Ballas, Tony Dovolani, Lacey Schwimmer, Anna Trebunskaya and Alec Mazo will be strutting their stuff for their final performance together.

R&B Singer Mya is poised to take out the winners title of Dancing with the Stars, especially after finishing only three points from a perfect score during Monday’s final night of competition. She also made a point that she will be claiming the mirror ball trophy saying: “I haven’t worked this hard for this long not to win this thing,” she continued “That trophy is mine.”

Mya scored an 87 out of 90 points for her three routines with professional dancer Dmitry Chaplin. The couple stunned with their perfect paso doble , and scooped when beating other couples with the mega-mix challenge. Which saw them dancing side-by-side with Donny Osmond and Kelly Osbourne.

“I was expecting something a little bit more spectacular,” judge Bruno Tonioli commented after Mya’s ” Hairspray” routine failed to thrill the judges. Scoring her 27 out of 30 points.

Osmond came in second place gaining  85 out of 90 points. His professional partner Kym Johnson and he earned a perfect score of 30 for their Broadway freestyle routine,  ” An absolute showstopper “  judge Len Goodman commented after the routine. But the couple didn’t gain as many points with their cha-cha gaining 27 points, and 28 during the maga-mix routine.

“I want to win this mirrorball so badly,” Osmond said about also winning the competition  “Because if you had a sister named Marie and she was going to rub it in your face your whole life, you’d want to win, too.”

Transformed Kelly Osbourne finished third with 76 points out of 90. Her Argentine tango with professional partner Louis Van Amstel allowed them 26 points each as well with the mega-mix performance. The couple also gained glowing praise from the judges with their freestyle dance to ’70s classic “I Will Survive” which earned them 24 points.

“One thing is for sure,” Tonioli commented to Osbourne. “You never looked more beautiful than tonight.”

“I didn’t think that I really could do it, but this was my opportunity to show people that I have grown up,”  Osbourne said of her part and effort on the show. “Every single dance we’ve done so far in this competition has been such a learning process and an adventure for me. I never thought we were going to get this far, but I’m so glad we did.”

On Tuesday they will all perform once again, before the final winner will be chosen.
