The term e g o t comes in to play this season in 30 Rock, the episode which features in Season 4 Episode 7 titled ” Dealbreakers Talk Show No.0001″ was aired on NBC.

The episode features as a surprise guest Whoopi Goldberg. In the episode  one of the stars is trying to get an EGOT, which has generated interest in the term.

EGOT, which basically means (Emmy, Grammy, Oscar and Tony,) all of which  Whoopi Goldberg has actually won.

Born Caryn Elaine Johnson in 1955, she is one of the only people in history to have won all the Oscar, Emmy, Grammy and Tony award while also winning a Golden Globe.

She won the Grammy Award in 1985 and a Tony Award as the producer of the Broadway musical Thoroughly Modern Millie.

Whoopi in the 1990′s starred in over 150 films, and at the time was the highest paid actress of all time.

Goldberg sent her Oscar statuette for her role in Ghost in 2002, to the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences to be cleaned and re-plated, during which it was taken from it’s container and then later retrieved by UPS the shipping company.
