Twilight star Taylor

Taylor Lautner’s life has been changed forever after his latest role in the Twilight sagas. He physically changed his body for the role that would catapult him to a house hold name. The much awaited The Twilight Saga: New Moon, will open in theatres this coming Friday.
The extra muscles he gained were a lot more for his role as a werewolf than for vanity, in which he plays in the second instalment of the films based in novels written by Stephanie Meyers.
Lautner plays Jacob and we get to see how he was Bella’s childhood friend in Twilight but all changes in this New Moon.
Lautner talks of the attention “I couldn’t control things outside of me, and I couldn’t control the media,” “But I could control what I was doing to portray Jacob correctly. So that’s what I stayed focused on the whole entire time.”
Lautner works out five-times-a-week weight and cardio training, he had to maintain the training while shooting in Vancouver.
Lautner says, “Yeah, Jacob transforms a lot in New Moon, but not only physically.” “He’s also different mentally and emotionally.
“So for me, it was a matter of getting to the gym and eating the right foods and I mean a lot of food,” he says. “But it also meant reading and studying the book, and my character, over and over and over again.”
The drama surrounding this saga shows the adventures of teen Bella Swan (Kirsten Stewart), who’s love life looks rather bleak after her lover vampire Edward Cullen (Robert Pattinson) breaks off their relationship.
When Edward disappears from her life, Bella tries to cope and subsequently connects with childhood friend Jacob, who is dealing with his own emotional turmoil as he transforms.
We also see some more intense moments with Bella and Jacob, and get a chance to see Lautner’s buff frame in a few of the scenes in which he is shirtless.
“I start laughing so hard every time I see that scene,” adds Lautner. “Jacob says, ‘Oh, you’re bleeding? OK, let me fix it.’ It’s so embarrassing.” Talking of a scene where he helps Bella after she falls from a bike.
Lautner started in the acting business at age nine, on such shows as America’s Most Talented Kids where he was a martial arts expert.
He then moved on to play sharkboy for The Adventures of Sharkboy and Lavagirl, by Robert Rodriguez. This really got eyes watching him in the industry, as well as his role in Cheaper by the Dozen 2.
But nothing he has experienced, made him ready for the attention he now receives.
“I don’t think there’s any way to prepare yourself,” Lautner says. “When we were doing Twilight, we were just filming a movie that we wanted the fans to enjoy. And then it kinda just blew into this whole other world.”
“Honestly, I try and stay away from what’s been written about me, because if you let that stuff get to you, and when it’s not true it can drive you crazy.”
He seems one star who is handling his newly come fame very well, with Twilight and his alleged relationship with country singer Taylor Swift, he knows how to handle the interest.
Lautner’s star is set to shine brighter and we should all keep an eye on what will become of the young star.
