Antonio Pierce
The New York Giants, cut one of their veterans on Thursday.
LB Antonio Pierce who at 31, was cut when the team, had informed him of the move, as he told Newark Star-Ledger.
Pierce wrote the the paper by email saying, “I’m doing great, feeling great.” “Looking forward to endless possibilities. Loved every moment as a NY Giant.”
In 2006, Pierce was a Pro Bowler, and had been with the Giants for five seasons, but due to a neck injury he missed the last seven games.
He was also with a former teammate Plaxico Burress, in November in 2008, when Burress shot himself in a Manhattan Nightclub, and subsequently had pleaded guilty to a gun charge. Although in the end police decided not to pursue the charges against Pierce.
So maybe these incidents had something to do with his being let go of, either that or a non active player isn’ much help to the team.
Either way, Pierce doesn’t seem to upset by the events at hand.
