On Saturday night The Cowboys led for 3 quarters in New Orleans against the Saints.

And the talk of the game at that time as the Cowboys, waited with fated breath for Nick Folk to line up to drill a 44 yard field goal through the uprights. And he made it, the crowd went wild.

The Cowboys defense were a big part of their domination of the third quarter.

But in the fourth New Orleans started to fire up, marching down the field in just over 3 minutes.

After 12 men in the huddle the Cowboys offensive was held to a 3 and out, with a perfect pass being dropped by Roy Williams.

Now the Saints were standing up to Dallas, they kept leading down the field and scored. This is when Romo scored which was needed being they were only down by 7.

Romo and the fellow players led the ball into the Saints redzone, starting from their own 20.

And then the moment the Internet and chat forums are ablaze about, There was a set up kick of just around 20 yards for Nick Folk, he has done this time and time again.

But he missed it, with this the crowd went insane the Saints were still in the game.

The Cowboys held the lead to win the game. But it seems that everyone is now talking about the ability of Folk, and if he should be still where he is.

This Saturday, the Cowboys Vs the Saints, which will be on the NFL Network, It is an important game with New Orleans coming into the game with a 13-0 record during 2009.

To go undefeated this year though they will have to go up against a strong Dallas Cowboys team, who are equally as motivated to win.

The game will be played at the Jacksonville Municipal Stadium, and go live around 8.20PM on NFNL.

The Saints have taken a new attitude to the games in the last 15 weeks with a one game at a time focus.

// <![CDATA[// <![CDATA[
//

They have served up an unbeaten streak with a 8-0, 10-0, 12-0 and a 13-0, before playing on Saturday night.

Coach Sean Payton spoke about the team saying, “The thing we’ve been able to do each week is take a close picture of the game we just played early in the week, and then make the correction and then get on to the next game,”

There has even been talk of Super Bowl chances for the Saints. But New Orleans are also forging ahead.

Devery Henderson a receiver said after the practice last week , “It actually gets harder every week,” “You have to pay a lot more attention to detail as far as preparation, there are a lot of distractions, more fans and more wanting to interact, to get you to do appearances. You got to separate all that from what’s important, and that’s going out there and winning games.”

“You look on TV and all you see is Colts-Saints undefeated. Other guys in the N.F.L. see that too. Those guys don’t want to see you go undefeated.”

He also added, “But the reality of it is we have a bull’s-eye on us. Every team we play as an undefeated team, we’re going to get their best shot.”

Mayor C.Ray Nagin spoke about the community and the game saying, “New Orleanians are emotional people,” “Our emotions get into everything.”

He also said, “With them winning every week it just helps us to get through some difficult situations. It’s been a psychological salve for us, healing some of our wounds form Hurricane Katrina.”

Nagin also mentioned he would love to see the saints go undefeated this season.

He said, “I think when destiny is on your doorstep, you follow it,” “They may never get another opportunity to go 16-0. So I think they should go for it, and what I’m hearing from the coach and from the players, they definitely are going to go for it, and it looks like Indianapolis is going to go for it.”

He also added, “Wouldn’t it be something if the Super Bowl in Miami was two undefeated teams, one New Orleans and one quarterbacked by a New Orleans boy?” “That would be unbelievable.”

Offensive tackle Jon Stinchcomb mentioned, “There’s no question in my mind that we, I, want to go for it,” “These opportunities are so few and far between. You’re talking about leaving a legacy and making history. I think a championship spirit is that anytime you get an opportunity to take that field, you want to take advantage of it, maximize it.”

The Saints who have a history of high losing seasons, would clinch their division, take a hold of a home field advantage and win the Super Bowl.

Defensive end Wull Smith said, ” The most important thing is everybody wants to win the Super Bowl.”

Already making the news today for his eye black featuring verses from the bible including John 16.33. Tim Tebow, has been hailed as one of the greatest young sophomores seen.

Tebow, also showed a much more sensitive human side, coming as now a UF senior from the tunnel, while his name was being called, came out in tears.

The player so hyped after his Heisman Trophy win. Now he leads the Gators to a 12-0 for only the second time in history.

He is one of the most beloved players at the UF campus, and obviously this game meant a lot to the player, especially a door closing on his past and a step into the future.

The player was crying uncontrollably, when he walked through the band and to his emotionally drained coach.

Trebow walked his lap of the stadium, to the song Party Like a Rock Star, as he did girls cried with him.“A girl who normally comes out there after our Sunday meals, she was crying,” “I was trying to say, `It’s OK, I’ll be around.’ I couldn’t cheer her up.” Tebow said.

And while the girls cried so did the boys,“There was a boy, Luke, who comes to a lot of our practices who I gave a hug to, and he was crying,” Tebow added.

Even the members of the Florida State band were waving in a way that suggested they were not that keen to see him go either.

“When I got to the part of the cheerleaders, I think I stepped on one of their ankles,” Tebow recalled with a giggle. “She went down hard. I felt terrible. So I gave her a big hug. But they were all laughing, so I think she’s OK.”

Tebow had at least 4 NFL quality passes in the game, ensuring his NFL potential. His future looks bright wherever it may lead too.

There are rumours amounting that former Baltimore Ravens head coach, Brian Billick is a viable candidate for an opening soon to be available for Notre Dame.

According to Spencer Tillman, of CBS Sports who reported the rumour, at the half of the Alabama – Auburn game.

He said he had spoken to a few people close to the process of the Notre Dame’s who mentioned that Billick’s name has came up as a “strong and viable candidate for that opportunity.”

Billick is expected to replace Weis as coach. Billick’s last involvement with a college game was 17 years ago.

Billick born in 1954, has coached for NFL’s Baltimore Ravens from 1999 to 2007, leading them to a 34-7 victory over the New York Giants in Super Bowl XXXV. He also works as a National Football League game analyst for Fox.

And with the Vikings where they made the play offs during six of the seven seasons from 1992-1998 , in which Billick was with them.

He was also put under the Sid Gillman coaching tree.

Notre Dame are a team of the University of Notre Dame in Indiana, USA.

They play at the NCAA Football Bowl Subdivision level as an Independent. All their home games are televised on NBC TV. Seven of their team have won the Heisman Trophy. The Notre Dame stadium holds a capacity of 80,795 where the team plays their home games.

Billick was fired from his position as head coach from the Baltimore Ravens, after a season which found the team went 5-11 including 1-5 in the division and lost to a team that was deemed as win less the Miami Dolphins. Steve Bisciotti the Ravens owner describing it as the toughest decision he ever had to make.

After the sacking Billing stated that he thought Bisciotti did what he believed was best for the Ravens, and said that the two men are and would remain friends.

Billick also appeared in 1977 on a game show called Match Game PM, where he lost to Marla Marshall. A panelist named Richard Dawson stating at the loss : “Failed at football. Failed at Match Game. Where will you go now?”

According to Dolphins offensive coordinator, Dan Herring , he recalls Jim Plunkett playing seven seasons wih New England and another two more with San Francisco, without having won a single season.

Making his being a number 1 pick in the 1971 draft quite odd.

Although Al Davis, (Oakland) picked him out, and from there he won Super Bowls, Herring saying. “Somebody has to have a vision for the player, and you have to put a team around him that fits him.”
Plunkett born in 1947 in San Jose, California, Played college football for Stanford University and there he won a Heisman Trophy> While also playing Professionally for Oakland/Los Angeles Raiders, San Franiciso 49ers and the New England Patriots. He has also started, and won two Super Bowls as a quarterback, leading the Raiders through victories XV and XVIII.

James W. “Jim” Plunkett was born to Mexican American parents while also having an Irish-German great grandfather paternally.

He worked his younger life as a labourer, grocery store clerk, and gas station attendant to make ends meet and to assist in the support of his blind mother and progressively blind father.

Plunkett first showed his skills in a throwing contest at the age of 14 with a throw of over 60 yards. He also competed in basketball, baseball, wrestling and track.

Tommy Prothro a UCLA coach, called him prior to entering the NFL the “best pro quarterback prospect I’ve ever seen.”

He was attractive for teams in the 1960′s due to his excellent arm strength and precision. He was drafted in 1971 by the NFL by the New England Patriot’s.

His first game was a 20-6 victory over the Oakland Raiders in the Patriot’s first regular season contest as Scahefer Stadium.

Unfortunately at the end of his career he spent his last three season’s as a back up or injured, he retired in 1986 after the season, and remains the fourth leading passer in Raider’s history.

Plunkett now does post game radio shows of Raider’s games

Former Lion Chris Spielman, has sadly lost his wife Stephanie Spielman to breast cancer.

Stephanie passed away Thursday after battling with the disease since first being diagnosed in 1998, it was reported by WBNS-TV in Ohio.

At first it looked hopeful for Spielman after a successful round of treatment for the disease, but unfortunately it returned once again in 2001.

Her husband Chris Spielman originally took a year off from his NFL career when Stephanie was first diagnosed, the family then worked to raise awareness and money for breast cancer research.

Stephanie created Stephanie’s Champions a program that acknowledges patient caregivers. While also raising more than $6.5 million at the James Cancer Hospital at Ohio State for The Stephanie Spielman fund for Breast Cancer Research.

“She will be missed, but never forgotten. Her passion and commitment will live on for generations to come. She’s truly a champion,” Dr. Michael Caligiuri, chief executive of the James Cancer Hospital, said in a statement.

Stephanie once took the field in a wheelchair at Ohio Stadium when her husband was honored in September by the Ohio State, for his election to the College Football Hall of Fame.

Stephanie Spielman is survived by her husband and four children.

From the sound of things they may have been disappointed.

USA Today’s Gary Mihoces writes, “At about 6 p.m, three young women arrived carrying an eight-foot wide banner reading: “Murderers Are Not Role Models.” They declined to be identified. The banner depicted a bleeding dog. Some fans walking by said words of encouragement to the women; some booed. One yelled, “Let’s go, Mike Vick!” Another fan barked as he walked by the women.”

Three young women, one wearing a shirt that said “Punx for Pits” held a sign depicting drawings of bloody paws that read “Murderers Are Not Role Models.”

Inside the stadium Vick made his debut as quarter back on the second play of the game. He lined up in the shotgun, with Donovan McNabb lined up as a receiver on the right side. Vick completed the first pass, a 4-yard shovel pass to LeSean McCoy.

On the next drive, Vick faked a handoff before keeping the ball on a bootleg to the left for a 1-yard run.

On the third play, Vick lined up as a wide receiver. McNabb handed off and faked a pass to Vick. On his fourth play, Vick dropped back as QB for a 13-yard completion to Hank Baskett. Vick’s fifth play came during the Eagles’ third drive of the game was a screen for no gain.

Philadelphia went on to win 33-32 over Jacksonville.
