They have served up an unbeaten streak with a 8-0, 10-0, 12-0 and a 13-0, before playing on Saturday night.

Coach Sean Payton spoke about the team saying, “The thing we’ve been able to do each week is take a close picture of the game we just played early in the week, and then make the correction and then get on to the next game,”

There has even been talk of Super Bowl chances for the Saints. But New Orleans are also forging ahead.

Devery Henderson a receiver said after the practice last week , “It actually gets harder every week,”  “You have to pay a lot more attention to detail as far as preparation, there are a lot of distractions, more fans and more wanting to interact, to get you to do appearances. You got to separate all that from what’s important, and that’s going out there and winning games.”

“You look on TV and all you see is Colts-Saints undefeated. Other guys in the N.F.L. see that too. Those guys don’t want to see you go undefeated.”

He also added, “But the reality of it is we have a bull’s-eye on us. Every team we play as an undefeated team, we’re going to get their best shot.”

Mayor C.Ray Nagin spoke about the community and the game saying, “New Orleanians are emotional people,”  “Our emotions get into everything.”

He also said, “With them winning every week it just helps us to get through some difficult situations. It’s been a psychological salve for us, healing some of our wounds form Hurricane Katrina.”

Nagin also mentioned he would love to see the saints go undefeated this season.

He said, “I think when destiny is on your doorstep, you follow it,”  “They may never get another opportunity to go 16-0. So I think they should go for it, and what I’m hearing from the coach and from the players, they definitely are going to go for it, and it looks like Indianapolis is going to go for it.”

He also added, “Wouldn’t it be something if the Super Bowl in Miami was two undefeated teams, one New Orleans and one quarterbacked by a New Orleans boy?”  “That would be unbelievable.”

Offensive tackle Jon Stinchcomb mentioned, “There’s no question in my mind that we, I, want to go for it,” “These opportunities are so few and far between. You’re talking about leaving a legacy and making history. I think a championship spirit is that anytime you get an opportunity to take that field, you want to take advantage of it, maximize it.”

The Saints who have a history of high losing seasons, would clinch their division, take a hold of a home field advantage and win the Super Bowl.

Defensive end Wull Smith said, ” The most important thing is everybody wants to win the Super Bowl.”
