For some great early 2010 coverage, keep your eye out for Nikki Yanofsky, the jazz-pop singer who hails from Montreal, Quebec, Canada, was born in 1994.  She has recorded for Verve Records, the Airmail Special which was released in June 2007, on the album We All Love Ella.

The young singer has also performed at the Montreal International Jazz Festival at numerous gigs, with acclaimed artists such as Celine Dion, Oliver Jones, James Birch, Wyclef Jean, and for three times has performed for the Montreal Canadians the National Anthem and also the Los Angeles Lakers.

She has her own production company called A440 Entertainment Inc, which has just started a distribution agreement with Universal Canada, with the first offering being a live CD/DVD concert package titled Ella… Of Thee I Swing, which was launched in September 2008.

Yanofsky was the youngest performer ever to headline her own show at the Montreal International Jazz Festival in it’s 29 years, doing so at only 12 years old.

She has also collaborated with Grammy Award Winning artists such as Herbie Hancock and Will.I.am (Black Eyed Peas), to record a crossover version of the hit Stompin’ at the Savoy.

It featured on the audio book On the Shoulders of Giants by Kareem Abdul Jabbar.  While also recording in French and English Gotta Go My Own Way for Disney’s High School Musical 2.
