Tanda light therapy for acne!


Just approved by the FDA is device to treat acne and photo aged skin at home. Tanda skincare system is powered by litecare technology, utilizes light emitting diodes and sophisticated optics to generates dual light energy that can help erase small lines and wrinkles. The blue light emitted is said to reduce or prevent acne and the red light can erase or diminish facial lines and wrinkles. When used regularly, the manufacturer claims that Tanda can generate a radiant, youthful looking face. The dual light system is unique in that it allows all members of the family benefit. The Tanda device can be used for thousands of facial treatments.

The device is small, portable and easy to use. The Tanda system works by plugging into any wall socket. The device has been developed so that with a single use, a large surface area of the face can be covered. How Tanda works is not really known but it is believed that the light generated penetrates skin and stimulates synthesis of new collagen and remodels the elastin; thus giving the skin a tighter and wrinkle free look.

While there are not many clinical studies on effectiveness of the device, manufacturers do cite isolated reports about its benefits. The few published studies claim that the device works best when used regularly for a few minutes every day for 10-12 weeks.

On cyberspace a few reviews claim that the device is not effective for all types of acne and does little for wrinkles.

The Tanda device is available for about $300. The kit does come with a pair of goggles to shield eyes from the light.
